Lingerie no longer hides this new season SS26

There was a time when underwear was exactly that: under. A silent layer. A well-kept secret.

Not anymore.

Spring-Summer 2026 has decided to bring into the light what once stayed hidden. And it does so without shame, without apology, and with a sophistication that disarms any easy reading of the trend.

From intimacy to centre stage

Underwear as outerwear isn't new. We saw it in the nineties, in those slip dresses that turned Kate Moss into an icon. We saw it again in the 2000s, in a more provocative key.

But this time it's different.

Today's lingerie isn't looking to scandalise. It's looking to elevate. A lace strap peeking out beneath a blazer. A silk bustier under an open white shirt. A long, fluid slip dress that looks like an evening gown and could just as easily be a nightdress.

The line between public and private has become deliciously blurred.

Why now

There's something deeply contemporary about this trend. At a moment when fashion swings between the austerity of quiet luxury and the noise of maximalism, lingerie offers a third way: a quiet sensuality. A femininity that doesn't need to shout to be heard.

There's also an idea of freedom. A rejection of disguise. Garments worn for the pleasure of wearing them, not for what they communicate socially.

The codes of the season

Lace, of course. But also satin, washed silk, tulle, and those calculated sheers that are never quite obvious.

The colours whisper: ivory, champagne, dusty pink, soft black. Nothing loud. Nothing competing with the piece itself.

And the cuts grow longer: ankle-length slip dresses, camisoles worn as blouses, bodysuits replacing the t-shirt.

How to read it

This isn't about walking out in your underwear. It's about questioning, from within the wardrobe, which pieces belong to which moment of the day. What gets shown. What gets suggested.

This season, lingerie has stopped being what goes underneath. It's simply what goes.

We look forward to seeing you for the next instalment of Acon100cia,

Where every post takes on new forms!
